KIKO Eyeshadows As Highlighters

Thursday, 3 December 2015 London, UK

December the 3rd already? Goodness, time is going so bloody fast! This year has been so tough, but honestly one of the best in terms of growth and understanding. I want you to take a minute and just look at all the things you've managed to achieve in this year alone, and then congratulate yourself for it. What a time to be alive!

So I guess from this title you're here to look at KIKO eyeshadows as highlighters huh? Did the title confuse you or are you so much of a beauty addict like my mum and thought to yourself "psssh I've been doing this for years now" haha. Either way I'm going to show you what three of these fantastic shadows look like swatched and there will be a photo of one on below, enjoy!

Kiko eyeshadow #139

So I'd seen so many beauty bloggers rant and rave about KIKO eyeshadows and using them as highlighters, and as a result decided to head down to Oxford Street to purchase some "highlighters" myself. I'd done some research online and it seemed that so many people were reviewing the same sort of shades. I however, decided that I would test every possible highlight shade and ended up with the following;

Colour Sphere Eyeshadow in shade #20 - My camera really doesn't do these products justice! This eyeshadow has silver/brown tones in a sort of marble effect and mixes together really well. However, one thing I don't like about this particular product is the shimmer... I feel like some of the glitter pieces are a bit big but having said that, I have to remember this is an eyeshadow!

Kiko Eyeshadow in shade #102. Oh my goodness, I love the pigment in this shadow... it's crazy! My camera has picked this up as a sort of brown eye shadow but I can assure you it's pretty much GOLD as you can tell by my swatches below. I usually hate using gold to 'highlight' as personally I think it pretty much does the opposite, but the shimmer and shine in this is beyond beautiful. Probably my favourite so far!

I think many of you would like this one. This eyeshadow is more of a peachy colour and when applied lightly it's your average highlighter shade that's sort of a pearly colour. This product however can be applied heavier to get more of the peachy pigment which is handy, I'd say this could be used for more of an everyday look.

Here are some swatches for you to get an idea of what these eye shadows look like applied;

All of the above are super blend-able and have staying power (when applied with a matte finishing spray). The quality and pigment of these products are unbelievable for the price, the main reasons I stay true to this brand. I've been shopping with them since 2013 (view an old awful post here haha).

Above wearing shade #102 pretty much blends in with my makeup!

Kiko Eyeshadows - £2.90 each (prefer these) purchase here

Kiko Colour Sphere - £5.90 purchase here

Next I'll be trying their water eyeshadows which can be purchased by clicking here

  1. These look amazing! I only have a couple of products from Kiko as I don't have a local store & when I'm in London the store I'm always closest too (Oxford Street) I'm unable to go into because of the lighting - their flashing screens plastered over the wall are just too much for my brain to cope with. I really should brave the website, especially as they list all their ingredients so I can check products don't contain anything I'm allergic to. Next time I'm on the look out for a product I'll definitely be looking at Kiko first! Xx
