5 Outfits With At Mayfair*

Wednesday, 28 October 2015 London, UK

Hey guys hope you're well, just wanted to apologise for being away from my blog for a some time. I've been really busy sorting out "life" as you know, sometimes things can get on top of you. Anyway, lately I've been wanting to incorporate some luxury onto my blog because I myself have been getting into more designer things and was thrilled when I was contacted on behalf of At Mayfair for a collaboration. I've been asked to create 5 outfits for my readers, which actually has been highly requested on my blog so this was a great push!

So, for my first two outfits I wanted to base them around a key item which is the Monochrome trousers by Fabryan. Recently, I've been on press runs so I always look at how I can wear an outfit two different ways during the day and night. I love the fact that flared trousers look completely different when dressed up or down, especially with the items I have chosen. The shoes by Janiko in the first two looks have to be my absolute favourites - I definitely want to purchase the trainers featured! I mean a touch of gold in platformed trainers which are super affordable... yes PLEASE!

Day & Night Outfit #1 - At Mayfair

Now, how many times has the aim been "dress to kill" but you kind of feel like you can't because your dress is so simple? Well I wanted to put these looks together to show you that actually, you can take a minimal dress with simple detailing and make it look great with accessories such as shoes and clutches. So for outfit one, I adore the shade of blue as it's really simple to coordinate with other bold colours such as this pink abstract clutch. This outfit is probably my favourite because of  the colours and something I could easily wear my staple NYX shocking pink lipstick with! Outfit two will probably be a bloggers favourite, (If not comment below and let me know which you like best) simply because of the colours and marble clutch. These days, simplicity and elegance scream everything so this is an outfit guaranteed to turn heads at dinner parties, special occasions and of course, blogger events!

Now last but not least is the sexy red dress by Emile Vidal Carr, I don't usually wear red at all  but I would wear this particular dress because it almost looks like a sleeveless coat which is unlike anything I actually own. Paired with these gorgeous boots by Konstantina Tzovolou I just think this outfit is one to make you feel very sassy and you know I love a bit of sass. The love heart detailing reminds me of something you'd find at Moschino, one of my favourite designers!

Dressed to Kill

I'd love for you to comment below and let me know which is your favourite outfit, choosing from; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Also would you like me to do more of these posts? I'll definitely be mixing high-st with luxury and bargains just to suit my blog and personality.

Big thanks to At Mayfair for helping me discover some of the finest fashions from the streets of Mayfair. Take a look at my favourite brand from the website here

Astral - More Than Just A Moisturiser #MultiDutyBeauty

Monday, 26 October 2015 London, UK

Recently, I was invited to the Astral bloggers lunch at the Covent Garden hotel to celebrate over 60 years of the beloved brand and a new-ish product, yes you heard correct! I was the first in the hotel (a breakthrough as I'm always late for events haha) and was met by some other fabulous bloggers. We were taken down to the Lyric room in the hotel and had the chance to be introduced to the rest of the team where we all got chatting.

After our hand massages and skin hydration tests (I need to drink more water btw), we were then seated with the lovely Katherine Peterson who is a qualified beauty therapist and skin consultant. Katherine works with 100s of products and educates people in areas such as: skin hydration, skin conditions and ageing etc. She gave us loads of handy tips on how to better take care of our skin and some handy facts including; '59% of us prefer using a multi-purpose beauty product' as we are clear on the benefits such as the many ways we can use them. Did you know that these were the many ways you could use Astral Original, all of which have been tried and tested in and out of the lab:

* As a body cream
* After sun/to prolong tan
* Night cream
* Hydrating mask
* Makeup Primer
* Nail treatment
* Cracked heels
* Lip Primer

& much more! I was so surprised listening to the many ways Astral can be used and to hear that they have not changed the formula of the product for 50+ years. I mean a product that doesn't have to change in a world that's forever changing is incredible - just goes to show how much the consumer is satisfied with the product. Whilst all this was being discussed we were tucking into a three course meal which was delightful. Myself & Alisha were truly stuffed haha and had another foodie event later that evening eeek.

A big topic at the table was the Afro Caribbean community and how they've endorsed Astral for many years now. My mother and grandmother for example have previously used this as a staple for years on and off and I've seen this passed down to generations in our family. It was really comforting attending an event that my family had some link to, in terms of using the product and to hear that others felt the same too. I haven't been to an event so intimate like this in a while, but I definitely think this was a great way to educate and get us bloggers engaging - brands if you're reading this take notes!

Now on to the new-er product which is 'Astral Soft' - Available at Superdrug. This product is perfect for those of you who prefer creams in a tube opposed to a tub and is perfect for all sized handbags.

Compared to the Astral Original, this cream is more water based which allows for the product to rub into the skin well and distributes the active ingredients into the skin thoroughly. Popular ingredients include Aloe Vera, Vitamin E which help hydrate, regenerate and protect skin from damage and dryness. As we transition into even more cooler months, this cream is a must for any woman's handbag - let's not forget the scent too slightly different to the original. I'll leave the rest as a surprise ;). Astral remains a brand loved by many and so affordable with creams starting at just £1, if you haven't tried any of the products mentioned I urge you to purchase and take the multi-product challenge - meaning you'll use the original cream in many different ways.

That's it for now, let me know how you get on!
Is Astral more than just a moisturiser to you? Don't forget to hashtag #MultiDutyBeauty in your astral posts on twitter and instagram.

Afternoon Tea at Betty Blythe Vintage Tearoom Clapham

Saturday, 17 October 2015

 I wish I woke up to this scene this morning. My friend Alisha and I were invited to visit Betty Blythe's Vintage Tearoom a few days ago and my oh my did we have a good time. We were warmly welcomed by Lulu Gwynne, founder of Betty Blythe and her staff, who gave us some brief history into why she started her cafes* and collection fine china!

Myself and Alisha were in total love with the place and so were taking a gazillion pictures, where we were then called upstairs to our private room for afternoon tea. For now, take a look at what the cafe has to offer...

As we arrived upstairs we had a platter of great treats from; cream cheese and salmon sandwiches, to brownies, buttered scones with strawberries and raspberry jam accompanied by one of the best green teas I've ever had. You can view the full menu here (ours was slightly mixed with some of the other tea menus).

I was having such a good time I honestly did not want to leave. I believe this place will be a big hit during A/W and an even bigger hit this Summer. Betty Blythe offer breakfasts, lunch, gluten-free options, they host parties... y'know the list is endless. If you happen to be around Clapham, make sure you pop in - you won't be disappointed or alternatively you can pop into the Brook green branch. Prices are very reasonable with afternoon tea starting at £22pp - with the opportunity to dress up using the awesome box of accessories.
FYI bloggers, this place is totally instagrammable - monochrome floors, marble table tops and pretty cakes... Blogger heaven. As this place is pretty accessible, I'll definitely be back.

Modelling For NYX & Look A Million At Selfridges

Thursday, 15 October 2015 London, UK

 This probably comes at no surprise but... I'm a big fan of NYX cosmetics. You can probably imagine just how shocked I was when I was asked by the head of PR & Digital @ NYX to model for the brand with Sanna from Look A Million doing my makeup. I was a bit apprehensive at first to be honest because I am a bit camera shy but I thought of how much I love and support the brand (check out an old post here) so couldn't possibly say no

On Saturday, I made my way to the NYX popup at Selfridges and was greeted by Sanna and the lovely Irene. We quickly caught up from the last time we had seen each other then I was sat down at their popup to do a live demo. It was nice to see Sanna's fans excited to see her and truly amazed by her skill - seriously she's amazing. After the demo, I was lucky enough to have Sheren from The Fashion Junkie come and meet me and take some piccies!

You probably would have seen my full face pictures on instagram so didn't want to upload them again on here! Hope you enjoyed reading the above - wouldn't it be amazing if I did some more collabs with NYX? I adore them! Don't forget guys NYX are in the UK available in selfridges & on www.very.co.uk
