Zeena's Pizza Tour - Rossopomodoro, Camden

Yes! You read correctly... I'm going on a pizza tour on the hunt for the best spots here in London. If you follow me on twitter you'd pretty much know that pizza is my favourite thing in the world... even before my famous smoothies! I'm always on the hunt for new pizza spots so thought a tour would be the best thing to do + I get to share my 'finds' with you guys. I don't want to turn into a massive pizza goblin so these instalments will happen once or twice a month.

So my first stop was Rossopomodoro in Camden. My friend and I came across this gem simply because his car was parked near the restaurant. We weren't really up for any of the typical Camden street food places so after a wander we came back to where we were parked. I must say I was a little sceptical as I'd never heard of the place or seen any reviews (I'm like the ultimate Trip Advisor queen), however was feeling a little spontaneous so just thought let's give it a go.

As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the waitress and asked where we'd like to sit. I really like when waitresses give you the option to be seated where you like as for me, I'm always looking for the best spot with lighting for blog photos. So we sat near the window and I instantly started snapping away (typical blogger).

We were both starving so decided to get a little starter in which we opted for some Bruschetta. Vine tomatoes, basil, garlic and oregano all topped on the most mouth watering bread. I was in heaven. The bread was so soft, tasty and basically melted in my mouth. I also loved how fresh the tomatoes were as sometimes in restaurants you don't often taste 100% freshness. The oregano and olive oil were a nice addition to the Bruschetta, just making it that extra bit tasty.

Whilst we were waiting for our mains the lovely manager and chefs allowed me to take a look at what goes in the kitchen. It was great to see the process of their pizza making - and a nice environment, not your typical stressy Italian kitchen.

So on to my pizza...mhhhm! I opted for the Napoletana consisting of black olives, mozzarella, anchovies, garlic, oregano and basil. I have to say.. but I don't want to say it just yet... this is the BEST pizza I've ever tasted. My dad would hate me for saying that since pizza making is his profession but honestly I've never tasted anything quite like it. I even ate all the dough - rarity! Speaking of which, is apparently made the same way they make it in Naples (that got me excited). My pizza was definitely rich in flavour which is usually out of my comfort zone, however glad I opted for this! (Reminiscing of how good it tasted).

My friend opted for just a normal margherita pizza with buffalo cheese.. I can say this was one JUICY pizza and cheese overload. You can see him stretching his cheese below... mouth watering right?

Honestly I could easily become a Rossopomdoro ambassador - so many good things to say about this place and it's affordable, such a plus. You can view the menu here

p.s. ignore my Costa cooler above, it was a hot day haha!
