Blogger Tips: How To Drive Traffic To Your Blog Using Twitter

Thursday, 30 July 2015 London, UK

I've wanted to do this post for a while now because I believe there still many of us who may not see how important the use of twitter is when it comes to blog marketing. Twitter, often ranked highly in social media reports has the ability of pushing your blog to the next level. I think that without this outlet my views would be quite low because most of my readership come from there and I find being highly ranked in google quite hard.

So today I'm going to teach you how to overcome the struggle slightly by promoting your blog via twitter...

First impressions
Without realising it, your bio is the perfect example of how people will essentially get to know you alongside your tweets. It's important to make yourself stand out and sound interesting as this is the first thing someone will read when coming across your page. Try to include the following:

* What you do
* Achievements (features/are you a founder/CEO?/awards)
* A link to your website/Linkedin or anything else that your're proud of
* Your email, I cannot stress this enough!

Please remember, for companies/PRs to take you seriously you want to watch what you tweet as this could harm your 'brand'. However, you also want to remember how important it is to have a voice and that your twitter account is a projection of you. They key is just to have balance. I'd recommend keeping it as professional as possible, if you have opinions on current affairs etc just be sure that you're not offending people. I've seen this hurt so many people's personal brands.

Promote Your Posts
So you've written a kick-ass blog post now you need people to see it? Well, Twitter is definitely your best friend. What I love about promoting on twitter is you don't even need to post new posts all the time, you can pull out posts from the archives and people still LOVE them! Just like this one, I wrote this in 2015 and you're still reading it today. ;)

When promoting your posts, you can use URL shorteners such as or so you have more characters to use for tweets, don't forget to include relevant hashtags so your tweets can be seen - I usually use the #fbloggers and #BloggingGals hashtag.

The Use of Hashtags
Moving onto hashtags. How many times have you used the #fbloggers #bbloggers #lboggers and many other hashtags in your tweets? Probably loads of times right? They're so good for helping to increase content exposure and can even boost your following.

Do remember to interact via hashtags too, favourite and re-tweet posts of interest to you, this can help you build a loyal following easily.

#fbloggers = Fashion Bloggers
#bbloggers - Beauty Bloggers
#lbloggers = Lifestyle Bloggers
#tbloggers = Travel Bloggers
#fdbloggers = Food Bloggers
#prrequest = Use when you're looking for brands, magazines, journos,
#BloggersWanted = Use when wanting to collaborate with bloggers

Engage With Others
It's all good blogging & promoting but what about engagement? Interacting with others is just as important. I tend to tweet bloggers and brands daily, catching up with them their content. This is key to building relationships online and shows people you're interested in them as much as you are in you. Participating in Twitter chats for example #fblchat which takes place every Tuesday is also a great way to instantly meet and interact with other bloggers all in the space of an hour!

Schedule Tweets
This has to be one of my favourite ways to promote my posts without having to be active on my twitter page. I use Hootsuite to schedule posts, however there are other tools such as Tweet Deck which is slightly easier to use (for beginners). I usually schedule tweets from 10am until about 8/9pm (every hour) depending on how much content I can find to share, I believe doing this has helped me double my overall page views in the past month.

Twitter Analytics
Last but not least, something that many of you may not be familiar with. The Twitter Analytics tool helps measure engagement rates and helps you understand what types of tweets work/don't work for your audience. This tool is now available for everyone and so it's something I'd recommend all bloggers use on a weekly basis. The stats in this can also help build your 'media kit' which you can find more about here

So those are my tips of using twitter to effectively market your blog! If you have any that I've missed out on please leave a comment below :)

Kiko Cosmetics - Velvet Mat Satin Lipstick Review

Monday, 27 July 2015 London, UK

Happy Monday lovelies! This is a short but sweet post about one of my most recent makeup buys from KIKO. Lately I've been on the hunt for the perfect coral lipstick (I know what you're thinking - this doesn't look like a coral lipstick) and purchased this one from KIKO. Sadly, as soon as I left KIKO I popped into Topshop and realised that Rimmel did an even better shade of coral in a more creamy texture. Anyway, this is the shade #604 'Bright Orange' which makes more sense to be named 'Orange Red' like one of their other shades. I feel this shade is more of an orangey red instead of shade #605, however I do still really like it. It's weightless, glides on easily and is not super glossy like some of their other lipsticks.

I used the lipstick before I got to take pictures of it straight out of the box *sobs* but here are a few photos of it;

Overall I think this is a great lipstick but I'm still on the hunt for the perfect coral/orange shade simply because I don't think this is as pigmented as I'd like it to be. If you have any suggestions I'd love for you to comment below :)

Feast London - The Late Night Food Delivery Service #NeverTooLate

Saturday, 25 July 2015 London, UK

Happy Saturday lovelies! I hope you're well :) I've been missing posts on my blog this week due to me being ill & very busy (sorrry), but nonetheless I'm really excited to talk to you about today's yummy feature!

Feast London are a newly launched food delivery service who aim to deliver food straight to your door, uni campus, office (wherever the heck you are) from 11pm until 5am. I know right? Bloody awesome. How many times have you been online and wanted a delivery at like 2am but everything's closed? YUP me too. Feast London are here to build the bridge in the market by offering some of the best takeaways (even from ones that may not be deemed as takeaways) here in London.

I was lucky enough to be one of Feast London's first customers where the owner (Hi Simon) kindly delivered myself and family a huge feast (pun intended), which was great as we were celebrating my two little cousins completing primary school . We ordered from Polo Bar which offers an extensive menu from breakfast, lunch to dinner. I feasted on the grilled salmon salad pictured below also taking a bite of one of their burgers. My aunt exclaimed: "This is proper food..not like your average chicken & chip shop deliveries, I'll definitely be ordering from this place in the future" - I agree.

Currently Feast London are only delivering to: E1, E2, EC1, EC2, EC3 and parts of SE1 and N1 and hope to expand their restaurant list. You can expect to find healthy deliveries from Sally's Salads and mouthwatering  'bagels' from Beigel bake nom nom.

Overall, I was very pleased with my delivery which was very prompt and delivered with a smile, I can't wait to see what the future holds for this company.

Spa Magik Organiks* - How to create a spa day at home

Tuesday, 21 July 2015 London, UK

Beat those weekday blues with therapeutic spa solutions made naturally. Tired of always saying I need a spa day?  Well here's how you can create your own at home!

Spa Magik Organiks aims to reduce the most common disorders such as; sleep deprivation, stress and dry skin by using pure essential oils, therapeutic plants & healing sea waters. These ingredients are said to improve overall health well-being and the appearance of skin.

Triple Oil Shea Body Butter (Moisture Therapy) - Buy here

So for those of you that suffer with dry skin (like me), this will become your holy grail. The body butter is rich and intensive meaning you'll only need to use a small amount to moisturise the skin well. When I'm having a spa day at home, I like to use this body butter right before bed. This leaves my skin feeling super smooth and like it can actually breatheeeeeee.
Ingredients: 100% natural avocado, coconut and sweet almond oils.

Deep Sleep Lavender Bath Salts (Sleep Therapy) - Buy here

Did you know that a third of people here in the UK suffer with sleep deprivation at some point in their life? Wow! Now, to minimise the chances of us having it for long periods of time, it really is important to take good care of ourselves. With that being said this is a great purchase for those of you that lead stressful lives.
Directions: Add 2-4 handfuls of the salts to a warm bath then sit back and soak for a minimum of 20 minutes. In this amount of time your mind & body should be able to wind down completely.
Ingredients: 100% dead sea mineral salts, lavender oil and power plant blends.

6 - Oil Super Serum (Sleep Therapy) - Buy here

Worried about ageing quickly? Use this super serum to further intensify your day/night creams. This serum is blended with 6 conditioning oils which aim to hydrate, repair and protect. Not only can you use this on your face but body, hair, nails lips & pulse points too!
Ingredients: Lavender oil, meadowfoam oil, rose hip oil, sunflower seed oil, coconut oil and vitamin E.

As I'm usually overworked I've vowed that I'll be having a spa/pamper day at home at least once a week and recommend you do the same. Who's with me?

My Flash Trash - #CharmGang

Sunday, 19 July 2015 London, UK

Okay so basically you've entered jewellery heaven, no seriously you have! I was so pleased when the babes over at My Flash Trash got in touch with me because I had been eyeing up some of their pieces for a while. I first discovered My Flash Trash through Blogging Gals, they'd always like the pictures I'd upload on instagram (FYI love super social brands) and so, I'd done some stalking and instantly fell in love.

A few weeks ago the brand launched in London's very own Topshop with a selection of flashy/trashy products curated by 20 of London's most inspiring women (they should have called me right? haha maybe one day!). Here are some photos of the piece I received:

I was sent the 'file missing' bangle which pretty much sums up my laptop - 'get a new one' haha! The bangle is gold plated with two microns of gold, has 3 adjustable closing points to fit wrists of all sizes and features 11 holes ready to be filled with charms. The bracelets and bangles on the website range from £28-58, you can choose to buy a set or custom make your own via the website - how cool?! I love the fact that the bangle is so comfortable, literally wore it for hours the other day and had no problems with it making my wrist feel uncomfortable/sweaty like many others do. Take a look at the website here and browse their sassy products!

I have my eye on the rose quartz charm and so many other charms to fill my bangle up. Which ones are your favourites?

Blogger Dates, Girlfriend Jeans & Rose Gold Heels

Monday, 13 July 2015 London, UK

Being as it was nice and sunny here in London on Saturday, myself and Monica from took it upon ourselves to meet up to discuss blogging, food, new ventures and the future (my fav topics). In between that, we ate, laughed a lot and did what fashion bloggers do best - took a gazillion pictures (well I did haha).

I wanted to put this simple outfit together because my favourite kind of  'go to' outfit has to be a cami and a pair of jeans. Usually I'd go for tighter jeans, for example Topshop's Joni jeans or Gap's Jeggings but with the great weather we've been having recently I opted for more of a boyfriend fit (well actually these are more like girlfriend jeans which I prefer), one of my fav non-jegging type jeans!

I love love love the details of this outfit. If you look closely, you will find the chain detailing on my cami which holds the top up, I love how discreet it is and how it almost blends in with my skin tone. I also love my rose gold shoes, I'm a sucker for rose gold (I even dedicated a post to it here). These Linzi* shoes would be great for a wedding, prom or even a summers night out.. next I'll be styling these with a midi lace pencil skirt - can't wait!

Below you can find all outfit details - enjoy :)

Top - Primark
Jeans - Gap
Shoes - Linzi
Coin Purse - Primark (absolute bargain like £4 or something)

Until next time!
