Mini Haul: Primark - In The Nudes

Thursday, 14 May 2015 London, UK

I don't know if it's just me but every time I go shopping I always have a colour theme, without even realising it just happens. The other day it was blue & grey, recently its all different types of nudes. Am I the only one who does this? aha
Anyway I just wanted to show you a few bits I got from Primark that I'm absolutely loving at the minute.

Cropped Vest With V-neck - £5
When I go shopping, its like I can never look away from the crops.. even in winter. I am truly a 90's baby. I adore this cropped vest as with the unpredictable weather we have here in the UK, (it was 20oc yesterday now it's raining as I type) at least I know this number will keep me just that little bit warmer on much cooler days.

Maximise Your Assets - £6.00 / £2.00
Now, For many years I had gone off Primark lingerie for the simple fact that within just a few uses the quality would alter from a pretty bra to something I looked like I had for years. I'd been put off and hadn't shopped in the lingerie section until late last year, this is when I discovered the Maximise range. These bras are slightly padded.. to some they may even seem extremely padded but because of the padding, I've noticed these bras do not loose the density and do not bubble up like some of the others. I'll definitely be adding some more of these to my collection.

Such a cute pair of thongs for only £2!

Laced Flats - £10
Last but not least, my favourite purchase of all. How gorgeous are these flats? I actually only popped into Primark for these in black but they had sold out. After walking around the shoe department countless of times hoping I'd find one last pair of these hidden somewhere, I came across the exact same style in beige. I can admit, it was love at first sight. I actually prefer this colour to the black pair and the fact that Summer is nearing, this is the perfect opportunity for me to get rid of all the dark colours in my wardrobe. Yezzzir! You've probably seen these shoes floating around on social media, New Look  have a gorgeous pair too if you wanted to check those out.

Have you been to Primark recently? What do you think of my purchases? Would love to hear from you!

Juicy Couture Press Day - #JCFall15

Wednesday, 13 May 2015 London, UK

Yesterday I was lucky enough to attend the Juicy Couture Press Day, taking a look at their upcoming Fall collection. To my surprise, Juicy Couture have upped their game to a whole new level! Yes the signature velour tracksuits still exist but the brand have embraced a sense of 'Glam Goddess' with their Black Label Collection.

Juicy Couture have so much to offer this Fall allowing for the edgy 60's/70's babe, the Chelsea girl and even the urban street chic to stay bang on trend this year! The pieces from the Fall Collection allow for any lady to re-define her wardrobe mixing shapes, patterns and overall styles - creating a unique combination of edgy looks.

Now, it's time for you to all enjoy what Juicy Couture have on their way. Oh and to all the mother's out there check out how many pretty pieces there are for your little ones - even matching outfits, how cute?!

Blog Advice: The Importance of Media Kits

Saturday, 9 May 2015 London, UK

Hey Gals and guys, I guess you're here for a reason.. You ask 'What the hell is a media kit and why do I need one?' - Well, I'm going to answer this as efficiently as possible. Please note this is my first media kit so there's so much more room for improvement. I will be tweaking every now and again just to keep it updated, it's like a CV after all.

So, the other day I had some spare time on my hands and decided to browse the internet for some media-kit examples. I just wanted to get a feel of what exactly was needed, the layout, design etc. I came across a few and loved how creative they were so decided to give my own a try! To my knowledge fellow blogger Rebecca  had just tweeted her media-kit so I took it as a sign and went about designing my own. I also saved hers for blogger outreach purposes.. Yes if you didn't know I do put bloggers forward for assignments since I get so many brands interested in the Blogging Gals community.

Anyway, let's get started!

I'm guessing all of you have 'Contact Me' and 'About Me' pages right? What does that include? Probably a little overview about yourself/blog a picture and a few contact details. Allow me ask you the following:
How many companies actually care for your love of pizza, cats or Gossip Girl? None probably. As harsh as it sounds, all companies are interested in numbers. Cliché I know, but think of it this way, these companies are investing in you. Sponsors need to know the value of working with your blog prior to contacting you, so it's important to include relevant information in your media-kit.

Do I really need a Media-Kit?

Yes you do!  Scrap that, of course you do! A media-kit is a great way for you to showcase your skills, achievements and makes sponsors feel like you know what you are doing. More importantly, this helps you understand your worth in terms of working with other companies. Not only can you bag yourself with great sponsorship deals and other collaborations, but you can also weed out those who perhaps are not so well suited to your blog. Ever receive those emails from PR's wanting to place content on your blog for next to nothing? Go figure.

So are you ready to get started? Well duhh... let's get going!

What do I need to include?

1. A photo (this should be a clear headshot.. doesn't have to be professional)

2. Your logo or blog header to act as a logo

3. About section (overview of yourself/blog)

4. Features (publications, events etc)

5. Brands you've worked with (include their logos)

6. Statistics (using Google Analytics to capture: monthly page views, visits, unique visitors etc)

7. Subscribers (including social media handles, newsletter subs etc)

8. Additional information: services (Are you a graphic designer? Social media manager? include this!)

Here is an example of the Media-Kit I drafted, I have purposely left out some additional information simply because I think I could expand on what I have already. Let's just say I love having a good ol' conversation via email haha.

You may also want to add the following just to give you that competitive edge:

1. Example pictures of your posts

2. Demographics so that sponsors can see how much of an influence you can have possibly over your audience and theirs

3. Example ad spaces using a homepage screenshot

4. Oh you should definitely include what kind of blog you run too (I've missed that out on mine). I'm pretty sure companies will know if you're a fashion, beauty lifestyle blogger etc but this is always good to have on your media-kit.

My media-kit has not only helped me collate all of my blog's information, but it has also helped me understand that I need to work so much harder on my blog in the next few months.

I hope this post helps someone out there, if it does I'd love for you to comment below! :)

* I used Macromedia Fireworks MX 2004 to make this so just proves you can make an even better media-kit using photoshop for example.
