My natural hair journey update

Hi guys,

Long time no blog... (I have to admit I've not been on my ball game like I should be...I do apologise).
Anyway, this post has been spoken about and requested a lot lately (especially now that my hair is coloured).

I will talk you through some of my hair photos (that I'll attach to this post) and will also mention the people who have helped maintain my hair through their products and services.

First of all I'd like to show you the 'changing textures' of my hair - basically how versatile it can be.

Blow-dried

Washed

Air-Dried

Straightened

So as you can see from the above pictures my hair is very versatile in terms of the texture and colour where the overall image of my hair changes depending on lighting, humidity, product and so fourth.

In terms of looking after my hair, it all depends on what hairstyle I'm wearing. I'll now go through my hair care steps with you, but before that please take the time to take in what products I am currently using.

from left to right -
Herbal essences Ignite my colour shampoo (with moroccan rose extracts for coloured hair),
IC heat protector,
Fantasia frizz buster creme,
Eco styler gel  (with moroccan argan oil),
Tresemme heat protector,
Clear bottle with darker oil is pure argan oil from morocco and the bottle next to it is pure olive oil also from morocco,
TLC naturals grow it hair range,
and Herbal essences ignite my colour conditioner.

Curly Hair
So I rarely wear my hair down curly but when I do I sometimes take advantage of the different styles I can wear.
As I am using water to curl my hair constantly it often dries my hair out a lot even if I'm using conditioner to style/moisturise. To control this I often use TLC naturals hair juice by sectioning my hair in about four sections, wetting the hair then finger combing. I then start brushing my hair and then spray my hair with TLC's hair juice.
I find this helps to moisturise my hair a lot, I then use my chosen oil to seal my ends (adding some oil to my scalp too).

Sometimes adding gel I end up with the first picture under 'Air-dried' hairstyle, which is my fav out of the curly styles.

Straight Hair
Having straight hair since my hair has been coloured has proved easier to maintain rather than wearing my hair curly. The strands of my hair seem to recycle the oil already in my hair and maintain that moisture far much longer than wearing it curly.
When straightening my hair I ensure to wash using my herbal essences products (Once a month using my deep conditioner), and before straightening I use my heat protector products to ensure the heat doesn't cause too much damage to my hair.
Once I've finished straightening I use my oils to then add some more moisture to my hair, this keeps the hair moisturised for days on end.

I hope this post has been very informative to those of you that read this and if you have any questions or tips for me I'd love to hear from you (Just leave a comment below).

I'd also like to mention my hairdresser Erica who goes by the name of 'Erica Hairstylist' on facebook. She has given my hair the great colour it is now and has also helped take care of it. If any of you happen to visit Northampton (UK) and are wanting to get your hair styled please contact her via facebook to book an appointment.

As always, I'd also like to thank TLC naturals for their amazing products which I have been using for nearly a year now! Visit them online here

Thanks again for reading this post guys, have a great week ahead!
